
Alison Crowley and Kathleen Ross-Allee, founders of The Yoga Prescription, are certified yoga therapists and graduates of the Loyola Marymount University’s Yoga Therapy Program, the first and only university accredited program in the United States under the direction of Dr. Larry Payne. They are registered yoga teachers (RYT) with the National Yoga Alliance (YA) and members of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). Combining their knowledge of fitness, illness/injury rehabilitation and yoga, Alison and Kathleen offer a unique perspective through their teaching that is complemented by their philosophy to make yoga safe, enjoyable and accessible to all.
Alison Crowley is originally from New York City and received her BA from Connecticut College. She discovered the practice of yoga in 1995 as a way to heal her back and neck injuries brought on by years of dance. In 2001, Alison graduated from Center for Yoga's Teacher Training Program in Los Angeles. Since then, she has been teaching in Los Angeles at studios and health clubs including: Center for Yoga, Liberation Yoga, the Hollywood YMCA, and The Women’s Club of Hollywood. Alison spends most of her time working with her private clients using yoga therapy to address their physical challenges. She also caters to the needs of businesses and corporations by providing employees with group classes.
Kathleen Ross-Allee, from Sacramento, California, began her business ‘Leen Bodies in 1991 as an ACE-certified personal trainer in Los Angeles. For more than 16 years, she has specialized in creating post-rehabilitation exercise programs for her clients. In 2002, she received her yoga certification from the Center for Yoga in Los Angeles. Kathleen teaches privately as well as at studios and corporations throughout southern California. She has taught at the Wooden Center at UCLA, CD Chivas, USA and The Center for Yoga, Larchmont. Kathleen is currently teaching at Liberation Yoga, Annie's Yoga and U StudioYoga in addition to running her private practice.
